Fellow writer and blogger Melissa Marsh is hosting a Writing Buddies blogfest in which we all introduce our four-legged writing pals. So, without further ado...
Meet Buster!
Buster is a seven-year-old schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle cross). He's got quite a history for such a little fellow. When only a few months old he arrived by air (and a traumatic flight it was for him, because the attendants forgot to feed and water him) from a breeder halfway across the country. Because we have allergies in our family, we had searched long and hard to find the perfect dog breed for us. We were certain of three things before we started: (1) that we did not want a small dog, (2) we did not want a black dog, and (3) we did not want a male dog.
Well...Buster is all three.
Given the subject matter of this blog, I couldn't resist including this picture. He may not appreciate the labors of a writer, but Buster has some literary tastes of his own. On my solemn word of honor, it was not posed. Somebody left the Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds laying around on the floor, Buster took possession of it, and Mom ran for a camera. I guess it just shows what a smart dog he is.

Nicely expressed. Sounds like my kind of dog.
What a cutie! Funny thing about making up our minds ahead of time what kind of dog we will or will not have...so often, the universe laughs. But always for a good reason.
I love that FACE. What a cutie! My dog, Charlie, was like that - he would nudge his head under my hand again and again to make me pet him. When I finally had enough and he couldn't get me to pet him anymore, he'd lay down and sulk. LOL!
Buster is adorable!
It's great to see pets that like to improve themselves with something literary. Our dog Kona has a great taste for reading-literally-and thinks the best way to appreciate a good book is to chew and swallow some if it. I don't think she is ready for a library card yet!
Thanks for stopping by, everybody! Valerie, fortunately Buster's never had that kind of taste for books, but when he was a puppy he did like to chew up any stray napkin or paper he could find. His favorite trick, though, was to steal a sock and hide it way under a bed so somebody had to crawl in and get it. He's grown out of that.
